Volunteer Opportunities:

“You cannot fix every problem, but what you can fix you must.”
(Bono, U2)

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Warm Hearth. From the beginning, we have hoped that Warm Hearth could be a venue of service for willing individuals and professionals. And as an unprecedented project in Armenia, we have relied heavily on individuals that have been able to give of their time, knowledge and expertise. With only one paid employee in the U.S. many aspects of the project have developed with the help and support of our volunteers.

A few examples of such gifts are:
  • Amante Mission donated administrative support in the early stages of the project as well as printing supplies for the first newsletter.
  • A graduate student helped us design and edit our first documentary.
  • A group of graphic designers have designed and updated our website on a regular basis.
  • A student in graduate school has donated manuals and textbooks on nonprofit management as well as acted as a consultant for Warm Hearth.
  • A volunteer gathered used cell phones from her workplace for a recent fundraiser.
  • A volunteer has offered her home for a community fundraising gathering.
  • A CPA has donated time to help us with financial reports, statements, IRS filings, etc.
  • A law firm has donated services to Friends of Warm Hearth, Inc. In addition, an Armenian lawyer has donated his time to help with the Armenian legal matters.

There are opportunities listed below in Armenia and the U.S. Volunteer opportunities are determined in large by the skill set, interest and expertise of the volunteer. If you are interested in helping Warm Hearth, please fill out this short form. If your qualifications meet our needs, we will contact you.

Again, thank you for your interest.

A Few Ways to Help

  • Friends of Warm Hearth is now a charity listed on GoodSearch.com which means that we can now earn a penny every time you search the internet. GoodSearch.com is a new search engine (powered by Yahoo!) that donates half its revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. You use it just as you would any search engine. If you are interested, just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter FRIENDS OF WARM HEARTH as the charity you want to support. Just 250 of us searching 4 times a day will raise about $3,650/year (which goes a long way in Armenia) without anyone spending a dime.
  • We are collecting used cell phones (no accessories, please!) and ink cartridges as a fundraiser. Send them to the address at the top of this page.
  • Sounds CDPurchase "Sounds From the Small Corners: The Voices of Our Residents", a CD with Armenian folk songs and poetry, recorded in 2005. All proceeds go to Friends of Warm Hearth. Click here to order.
